Research Courses (1 x 10 days; 1 x 5 days) The Research Courses are designed for young, promising top researchers with excellent achievements in their international law studies and/or research. Each year a group of 12 young researchers is selected that will participate in the Research Course, held in October (10 days) and March of the following year. Each Research Course will deal with a theme that is topical at the moment of the training.
The main purpose of the Research Course: The aim of the Research Course is to enable each researcher to write an article of publishable quality on a topic related to International Criminal Law, to be published in an edited volume (T.M.C. Asser Press).
Eligibility: The Research Courses are open to (per year): 2 candidates from Group 1: Participant attending the event is in the first 4 years (full-time equivalent) of his of her doctoral research activities. 10 candidates from Group 2: Participant attending the event has at least 4 years and less than 10 years research experience (full-time equivalent) in his doctoral research studies or is already in possession of a doctoral degree. Selection criteria: Candidates will be selected on the basis of: their affinity with the subject matter, written recommendations from two or three supervisors, and their motivation for participating in the project. Financial contribution: There are no fees charged to the participants. The subsidy reimburses the travel costs (up to maximum amount). A small per diem will be given to the participants. However, the cost of accommodation and meals are at the charge of the participants. |
