Summer Program on International Criminal Law

The Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies will organize its first Summer Program on International Criminal Law for American and Canadian graduate students in the Summer of 2010.
Since 2003, the Grotius Centre has organized 11 Summer Schools, for students and young professionals as well as for researchers. In light of its expertise and experience, the Grotius Centre can offer a top-quality Summer Program in the field of International Criminal Law in the best environment one can imagine.
Campus The Hague, Leiden University, housed in the historical centre of The Hague, has some of the major international instituitions at its doorsteps, including the International Court of Justice, The Permanent Court of Arbitration, the International Criminal Court, the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and Europol.
Students enrolled in the Summer Program will be attending hearings at the International Criminal Court and the ICTY, visit the Peace Palace, and enjoy the privilege of participating in classes, seminars and practical excercises taught by practitioners from the international courts and tribunals and by Leiden University Academic staff.
Apart from the academic program, for which students can earn 10 ECTS, the program includes many extracurricular activities, including a day trip to Amsterdam and a canal boat cruise, making sure that participants can make the most of their summer in The Netherlands!
