Summer Schools

The Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies has been organising summer schools since 2003. The majority of these courses have been developed for graduate students and young professionals.

The Summer School on International Criminal Law celebrated its 10th anniversary this summer and and will be organised for the 11th time in 2013.

A collaboration with Oxfam Novib has resulted in a Summer School on Women, Peace and Security, on the implementation of United Nations Resolutions 1325 en 1820. This course will be held for the 4th time next summer.

In 2012, the Summer School on Human Rights and Transitional Justice was added to the curriculum. This course is meant for advanced students and professionals in this field, and will focus on a different sub theme each year.

We also host the a 6 week summer course for American undergraduate students: The Brandeis in The Hague summer program, which is a result of a wonderful collaboration with Brandeis University that started in 2010.

We warmly invite you to take a look at the summer school pages on this website, and we look forward to seeing you at one of our summer school in 2013!
